Off to see our little girl!!!!!!!

It's hard to believe that in a matter of days I will meet our little girl!!! I can't say much as many of the adoptive parents know... but I will tell you she is "four fingers and a thumb" old!! We leave JFK Saturday and arrive Monday at 9:10 am in Magadan -- that's a direct 9 hour flight from NYC to Moscow and a five hour layover in Moscow before we head over to Magadan. It's a nine hour plane ride with one stop for about an hour on the way. So yes that is 20 hours in flight and a five hour layover --- notice NO HOTEL stop on the way to Magadan!!! 25 hours of travel without a bed and it will only be 9 am when we arrive!! WOW... We are having an agency rep meet us in Moscow to take us to the other SVO airport... since the international and domestic terminals are about 15/20 minutes apart.

We are excited and can't wait!! I better finish packing. I'll try to touch base when I can if not I'll certainly let everyone how it went when we get back.
Wish us LUCK!!!

Hi Melissa,
No, it's not what we wanted, but because of the flight schedule -- they wanted us to arrive on THE 9:10am flight in Magadan, (there are only like 3 or 4 flights a week to our region) so going there that's just how it worked out, but coming home we do have a night in Moscow. During the process of booking flights there were a few options, but this is the one everyone agreed was the one to go with. So we did.!!

You'll do fine with the travel. We did 31 hours bed to bed (with no hotel) on the way home from Moscow. With a child in tow that was exhausting.

Have a great trip. Can't wait to hear about it.

Congrats. Those days will be here before you know it. We also had to travel that many hours to our son's region, so I know it all to well. You will be exhausted, but once you meet her, you will forget all about that.
